How to find out Universal Japan Early Entry time
Scanned early entry barcode day before which told us early entry was 7.30am.
We stayed near Shinsaibashi, took three trains to Universal Studios, was busy but not sardine packed.
We left at 6.30am but by the time we got to the West Gate it was 7.23am.
We left our prams outside of Super Nintendo World
We had two travel prams and left them outside of SNW.
The relatively small group was let through and we walked really fast to SNW and it was a good 10 min walk. Straight to Mario Kart, waited max 5 mins as one group was ahead of us.
Can you use child switch at Mario Kart?
We got to use the child switch so my husband and I could do the ride and my eldest got to ride twice.
Went straight to Yoshi’s ride afterwards and the line was 10 minutes.
Went to the cafe and the line was about 20 minutes. Food was fast. Would recommend eating elsewhere because the food was average but we didn’t have breakfast and we’re hungry.
Can you bring food inside Universal Studios Japan?
We did bring some outside food and that was checked on entry but we won’t stopped.
I checked timed entry constantly and at 8am, time entry was releasd for 8 and 9am. At 8.45am released for 10 and 11am. At 9.15am released for 12pm and 1pm. Finally at 9.45am they were released for 2 and 3pm and we choose 3pm.
We were in SNW until 12.30pm and left to do the rest of the park.
Toddlers love Sesame Street at USJ
Sesame street area was great for my 2 year old with a couple of suitable rides and a great play area.
How much do Power Up Bands cost?
Yes you need the power band to interact with things in SNW but I’m not sure if it is necessary if you aren’t interested in lining up for the different 5 min activities. It felt we did not get use out of the 4800¥ bands.
I didn’t get the express pass as my 6 year old couldn’t go on all the rides so wasn’t worth it for us

How long are the big ride queues at Universal Studios Japan?
The other rides at the park were about a 30-40 min wait, except the flying dinosaur or hippogriff (I forget which one) which was 80 minutes. So it wasn’t as bad as I thought. The rides for in sesame street area was about 5 mins wait.
